Zero Tolerance: Umego has an absolute zero-tolerance policy towards child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) content. Any violation results in immediate permanent account ban and report to law enforcement authorities.
1. Age Requirements
Umego is not intended for children. Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use any part of the service. Age confirmation is required during account registration.
If we discover that a user is under the minimum required age, their account will be immediately terminated and all associated data will be deleted.
2. Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
- Automated Detection: Umego may use automated image and text checks to help identify potentially exploitative or prohibited content.
- Reports and Review: User reports and other safety signals may be reviewed and can result in content removal, account restriction or preservation of relevant evidence.
- Instant Ban: Users who attempt to share, solicit, or distribute any form of child exploitation material are permanently banned immediately — no warnings, no strike system.
- Required Reporting: Umego reports apparent child sexual abuse material to appropriate authorities or reporting bodies when required by applicable law and preserves relevant evidence where lawful.
3. User Reporting
Umego provides multiple ways for users to report child safety concerns:
- In-App Reporting: Users can report any post, message, or user profile by tapping the menu icon and selecting "Report". Reports related to child safety are prioritized.
- Email Reporting: Users can report child safety concerns directly to [email protected]
- Anonymous Reporting: Reports can be made without revealing the reporter's identity to the reported user.
4. Content Moderation
- User-generated content may be subject to automated checks, user reports and review.
- Automated tools can make mistakes or be unavailable; users should report suspected abuse immediately.
- Relevant moderation records may be retained as reasonably necessary for safety, audit and legal obligations.
5. User Safety Features
- Blocking: Users can block any other user, preventing all forms of interaction.
- Privacy Controls: Users control who can see their content and contact them.
- Ghost Mode: Users can hide their location from the People Nearby feature at any time.
- Account Deletion: Users can delete their account and all associated data at any time.
