What is Umego?
Umego is a social app built in Bangladesh that holds two separate registers in one account. The Friends side is for neighbourhood discovery, messaging, voice and video calls, live audio rooms, communities, a marketplace, reels and games. The Nikah side is for serious, verified Islamic matrimony, with a wali able to be present in the conversation.
Nothing you do on one side appears on the other. Same login, two rooms with different manners.
Is Umego free?
Yes. Umego is free to download and free to use, and there is no advertising anywhere in the app. Premium is optional and lifts limits — it is also what pays for the app, which is why the feed has never needed ads.
How much does Umego Premium cost?
There are two tiers, in Bangladeshi taka. Umego Pro is ৳299 per month or ৳2,390 per year. Nikah Premium is ৳990 per month or ৳7,900 per year.
Nikah Premium is a superset of Pro rather than a separate track — it already contains everything in Pro, so you never buy both. Premium is purchased inside the app once it is installed.
How is the Nikah side different from the Friends side?
The Nikah side is deliberately slower and stricter. Every profile is verified before it is visible, so nobody browses people's futures anonymously. A wali (guardian) can be present in the conversation from the first message, visible to both people. Location is shown at district level only — “Gulshan, Dhaka”, never a map pin and never a distance in kilometres.
The Friends side is quick, dense and playful by comparison, and nothing crosses between them.
What is a wali, and how does Umego include one?
In Islamic marriage a wali is a woman's guardian, usually her father or another close male relative, who is involved in the marriage process. Umego builds this into the product rather than leaving it outside the app: a wali can be present in a Nikah conversation from the first message, and both people can see that they are there.
Does Umego show ads?
No. There are no sponsored posts wedged between your friends, no rage bait engineered to hold your attention, and no accounts farming engagement. Umego is paid for by Premium subscriptions, so it has never needed to be paid for by your attention.
Does Umego work in Bangla?
Yes. The app is bilingual, and Umi — the built-in assistant — answers in whichever language you asked in, including Bangla. The interface uses a single typeface across Latin and Bengali so the two never look bolted together.
How does Umego verify people?
Verification is a real identity check, not a badge you can buy. On the Nikah side it is mandatory before a profile can be seen by anyone. Reporting and blocking work in one tap and actually take effect.
Is Umego on iPhone?
Not yet. Umego is on Android now, and the iOS version is in progress — the App Store listing is marked coming soon. You can join the beta to be told when it lands.

Is Umego the same as Umego.ai?
No — they are unrelated companies that happen to share a name. This site, umego.app, is the social and Nikah app made in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
